Recently, multiple places have issued specific regulations on reducing the burden on primary and secondary school teachers, which has attracted attention. According to a survey conducted by Xinhua Perspective reporters, significant progress has been made in reducing the burden on primary and secondary school teachers in recent years. However, in some places, primary and secondary school teachers still bear too many non teaching tasks, and some work that should have been completed by government departments also enters the campus, occupying teachers' normal working hours, and some even causing conflicts between home and school. Some teachers are burdened by non teaching tasks. In fact, as early as December 2019, the General Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the General Office of the State Council issued the "Several Opinions on Reducing the Burden of Primary and Secondary School Teachers and Further Creating a Good Environment for Education and Teaching". Subsequently, relevant measures were introduced in many parts of the country. However, many primary and secondary school teachers in many places report that the current workload outside of education is still heavy. A primary school principal told reporters that last semester, the county entrusted the task of counting the consumption rate of iodized salt to the school. Therefore, teachers had to do everything possible to collect edible salt from students' homes, mark it properly, and send it to relevant departments for testing. After the test results were obtained, the department requested the teacher to conduct science popularization and send back records for families consuming non iodized salt. This situation is not an exception. Teachers from various regions have listed more than 10 types of non teaching tasks that have been done to reporters. The research group of the China Rural Governance Research Center at Wuhan University conducted a special survey in rural areas such as Hubei, Hunan, Henan, Gansu, and Guizhou. It was found that primary and secondary school teachers undertake a large number of non teaching tasks, including not only various inspections and evaluations within the education system, but also tasks such as fire safety, drowning prevention, anti fraud, legal education, and mobilizing parents to vaccinate students, Other government departments also rely on schools to complete a large amount of creative work. Several teachers in Shaanxi reported that during the summer vacation, relevant departments required them to write flood control slogans, pull warning lines, take turns patrolling the river, and must take photos and sign. Some administrative units have also increased the workload of their own departments to schools layer by layer. The principal of a rural school in multiple regions told reporters that the school was once required to collect personal accident insurance premiums for parents and urge payment of water fees. Due to the dependence of multiple departments for support in running a school, the school was concerned that refusing would bring more inconvenience and had to take on the responsibility. A rural school teacher in Shanxi Province told reporters that the task of counting the stock of rural livestock by the Livestock Bureau has also been assigned to the school. The teacher needs to count the situation of farmers raising pigs, sheep, cows, etc. at home, fill out forms, and collect photos. Many rural elderly people do not know how to use smartphones, so a few teachers have to go to farmers' homes to count their livestock, "said the school principal. A rural primary school principal in Guizhou said that when the local town government allocates the task of collecting medical insurance to schools, they will rank them based on their completion status, and the schools at the bottom will be criticized in a notice. Several interviewed principals and teachers in Shaanxi also stated that they need to follow the relevant departments
