The "Innovation and Technology Carnival 2023" organized by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Innovation and Technology Department (ITSD) will be held from October 28 to November 5 at the Hong Kong Science Park, showcasing multiple local innovative inventions and research achievements. The carnival held a press preview on September 26th. The "Innovation Technology Carnival 2023" will feature 38 booths at the Hong Kong Science Park, showcasing multiple local innovative inventions and research achievements, with the theme of "Smart Life Green Technology". Some booths also feature interactive games. About 150 creative workshops with different themes were also held on site, including parent-child workshops. It is reported that this year's Carnival event has received support from 50 partners in Hong Kong, including universities, research and development centers, and government departments. It is hoped that through a series of interesting activities, it will enhance citizens' understanding of innovation, inspire the interest of the younger generation in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), and promote innovation culture. The City University of Hong Kong team introduced their "smart sponge", which is a multifunctional and selective oil absorbing sponge that can be used in various environments, including aquaculture filtration systems, household oil cleaning, and oil pollution cleaning in saline and light water areas; The "5G Cloud Robot System" developed by the Hong Kong Institute of Applied Science and Technology combines advanced 5G, cloud computing, and robot technology to autonomously navigate and perform fine tasks in complex environments, thereby improving efficiency and productivity while reducing human intervention and risks; Zhonghua Fund High School introduced its "Go Plastic · Wax 'Pump' Action", which uses materials such as beeswax, rosin, and soybean residue to replace plastic as the raw material for 3D printing.
