Recently, the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee decided to appoint Comrade Chen Yong as a member, standing committee member, and secretary of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee. Before taking office, Chen Yong served as a member of the Standing Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Guangzhou Municipal Committee. On August 28th, the Organization Department of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee issued a pre appointment notice for provincial management cadres, in which Chen Yong proposed to be appointed as the Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee at the prefecture level. According to the public resume, Chen Yong, male, Han nationality, born in January 1974, holds a master's degree in engineering and is a member of the Communist Party of China. Chen Yong studied at Sun Yat sen University and South China University of Technology. After graduating with a master's degree in 1998, he joined the Policy Research Office of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and held positions such as Director of the Public Transport Department and Director of the Economic Research Department. In 2008, Chen Yong was appointed as the Deputy Director of the Guangzhou Economic and Trade Commission. During this period, he served as Assistant to the Mayor of Chaozhou City, a member of the Municipal Government Party Group, and Director of the Port Bureau from 2011 to 2012. In 2013, Chen Yong was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee and Deputy District Mayor of Baiyun District Committee in Guangzhou. In 2015, he was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of Baiyun District Committee and Director of the District Social Work Committee. In 2016, Chen Yong was transferred to serve as the District Mayor of Zengcheng District, Guangzhou. In 2019, he was appointed as the District Mayor of Huangpu District, Guangzhou. In 2021, he was appointed as the Secretary of the Huangpu District Committee. Afterwards, Chen Yong was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee and the Secretary of the Huangpu District Committee. In September 2022, he was appointed as a member of the Standing Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee, marking this adjustment. Previously, Lv Yuyin, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, also served as the Secretary of the Zhuhai Municipal Party Committee.
