Over the past 40 years, it has been proven that friendship and people-to-people exchanges can inject momentum into the development of US China relations, helping our country and people move towards a bright future together. Not long ago, five other friends from Iowa and I visited China and participated in two very important events. The first event is the "Guling Rim" Sino American Folk Friendship Forum held in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, and the second event is the 40th anniversary commemoration of the friendship between Iowa and Hebei Province held in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province. We were very excited when we received the invitation to visit and saw it as an opportunity to strengthen exchanges and contribute to enhancing cooperation and friendship between the two countries. Most of the people in our delegation visited Fujian Province for the first time and heard about the story of Guling. The pleasant climate, fragrant jasmine tea, and warm and friendly people of Fujian have brought us a very unforgettable experience. Many speakers at the "Guling Rim" China US Folk Friendship Forum are members of the "Friends of Guling". I have heard touching stories about Guling from them and felt their admiration, understanding, and respect for the Chinese people and culture. This profound understanding and sincere friendship can only be established through years of living or visiting China and long-term communication and exchange with the Chinese people. Despite a busy schedule, he still took time to visit his old friends and said passionately, "To me, you are America. This makes us realize that efforts should be made to develop friendly relations between people and never forget old friends. The friendship we established with local friends during our visit will continue to inspire us to devote ourselves to the cause of US China friendship in the future. The second activity of this trip to China is to participate in the commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the friendship between Iowa and Hebei Province. When I was a baby, this friendly province state relationship had already been established. Nowadays, friendly cooperation between the two sides is still thriving. When I arrived in Hebei Province, I felt like I was at an old friend's house. We had a sincere conversation with local friends and also visited Xiong'an New Area, which left a deep impression on us as a future city.
