On September 1st, the Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs of China announced that since the implementation of the "Macau Car North" policy on January 1st and the "Hong Kong Car North" policy on July 1st this year, as of July 31st, there have been 530700 inbound and outbound vehicles with single license plates from Hong Kong and Macau. From August 31st to September 1st, the 2023 Guangdong Macau Customs Business Liaison Conference was held in Macau. According to the meeting, during the 2021-2023 cooperation year, Guangdong and Macao customs have closely cooperated and worked together to carry out practical cooperation in multiple fields, achieving fruitful results. In terms of customs clearance, on February 14th of this year, the expansion of the Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge (with the addition of cargo functions in the Zhuhai Macao Channel) successfully passed the national acceptance. Starting from July 1st, the supply of fresh food to Hong Kong and mainland China through the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge will be expanded to include all categories. Customs has opened up a green channel for fresh food, ensuring efficient customs clearance with zero delay, effectively promoting economic and trade exchanges between Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and ensuring people's livelihoods in the three regions. In terms of administrative mutual assistance for anti smuggling by the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Customs, we have effectively cracked down on the smuggling of "water passengers" at the Pearl River Macao Port and curbed the rampant trend of smuggling in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao waters. For example, in 2022, the Zhuhai Macao Customs successfully seized cases of "G2207 Yin Gang smuggling high-end food ingredients such as bird's nest into China", "Yin Gang smuggling high-end food ingredients and medical beauty products into China", and "518 Gang smuggling bird's nest and cosmetics into China". The Guangdong Branch of the General Administration of Customs of China stated that in the new cooperation year (2024-2025), the customs of Guangdong and Macao will jointly promote innovation in the regulatory policies, systems, and methods of the Hengqin Guangdong Macao Deep Cooperation Zone. Maintain a strict crackdown on the smuggling of "water passengers" at the Zhuhai Macao Port. Pragmatically promote the construction of a "one-stop" information platform for Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao customs, facilitating passengers and enterprises to timely obtain customs clearance information and port clearance status.
