At 10:00 am on August 29th, the G55302 high-speed train slowly departed from Guangzhou Xintang Station, heading east, and arrived at Shanwei Station 50 minutes later. This is the first trial operation train of the Guangzhou to Shanwei section of the Ningbo Guangzhou high-speed railway (hereinafter referred to as the Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway) that departed on the same day (see the above figure). At present, various work during the operation test phase of the Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway train is steadily advancing, indicating that the countdown to the opening and operation of the entire line has entered. It is reported that the Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway starts from Guangzhou Xintang Station in the west, passes through four urban areas: Guangzhou, Huizhou, Shenzhen Shantou Cooperation Zone, and Shanwei, and ends at Shanwei Station in the east. The total length of the line is 202 kilometers, with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. It consists of 8 stations, including Xintang, Zengcheng, Luofushan, Boluo, Huizhou South, Huidong, Shenshan, and Shanwei. Among them, Xintang and Shanwei stations are existing stations, while the other 6 stations are new stations. The Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway is a key project in Guangdong Province, connecting major railway lines such as Beijing Guangzhou, Guangzhou Shenzhen, Hangzhou Shenzhen, and Beijing Hong Kong. After the opening and operation of the Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway, the shortest running time of high-speed trains from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be compressed from the current 2 hours to less than 1 hour. The opening and operation of the Guangzhou Shantou high-speed railway will add a fast passenger transportation channel to the integration of the revolutionary old area in eastern Guangdong into the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, empowering rural revitalization and high-quality regional economic development.
