The 9th typhoon of this year, "Sula" (super typhoon level), was located at 11:00 am on August 30th on the sea surface of the Bashi Strait, about 570 kilometers southeast of Shanwei, Guangdong. The maximum wind force near the center was above magnitude 17. The meteorological department of Guangdong Province predicts that "Sula" may make landfall in the eastern coastal area of Guangdong during the day on September 1st. The meteorological department of Guangdong Province said that although the path of "Sura" in the later period is still uncertain, its impact on the sea area east of the the Pearl River Estuary and coastal areas is clear, and defense preparations should be made in time. As of 11:00 am on August 30th, some coastal areas in eastern Guangdong have upgraded their typhoon warning signals. Among them, Raoping, Chenghai, Nan'ao, Shantou, Chaoyang and other places have upgraded their typhoon warning signals to blue; The white typhoon warning signals for Chaozhou, Jieyang, Jiexi, Puning, Huilai, Lufeng, Haifeng, Luhe, Shanwei and other places are in effect. As "Sula" approaches further, it is not ruled out that various regions in Guangdong will continue to issue or adjust typhoon warning signals. Meteorological experts say that "Sula" will move northwest at a speed of about 10 kilometers per hour, and it is highly likely to land in the coastal area of eastern Guangdong during the day on September 1st (with a strong typhoon level of around 15). It is also possible to move towards the southwest direction near the eastern coast of Guangdong, and the intensity will slowly weaken. According to the analysis of the Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Bureau, as "Sula" approaches, the impact of wind and rain weather on Guangdong will gradually extend from the sea to the land. It is estimated that there will be rainstorm to heavy rainstorm and local extremely heavy rainstorm in cities and counties in eastern Guangdong, southern Meizhou, southern Heyuan and southern the Pearl River Delta from the night of August 31 to September 3, and thunderstorms and local rainstorm in other cities and counties. Meteorological experts point out that "Sula" has the characteristics of "small size and strong intensity". During its impact period, the winds in the Bashi Strait, Taiwan Strait, the northeastern sea surface of the South China Sea, and the sea surface of Guangdong will significantly increase. Ships, marine tourism, marine pastures, and offshore wind power should take precautions and return to the port in a timely manner to avoid the wind. Island, coastal tourism, and water play projects need to be closed. Coastal cities and counties need to do a good job in wind protection and reinforcement of outdoor billboards, road greening trees, etc. (New News Agency)
