The best way to understand our motherland is to go to the mainland for exchanges. Only by deeply understanding the country's development can students find opportunities brought by development. We organize students to study and exchange in the mainland to achieve this, "Wu Huanjie, the principal of Hong Kong Peiqiao Middle School, told China News Agency on the 27th. At the time of the interview, he had just led the students to complete their study and exchange in Fuzhou City. Peiqiao Middle School has always had a tradition of systematically organizing students to study and exchange in mainland China. Wu Huanjie introduced that he had already made relevant arrangements while studying at Peiqiao Middle School. Nowadays, schools promote learning and exchange as a course to help students understand the national conditions. Every year, the school sets up a "Growth and Learning Week" to lead students from grades one to five (i.e. from junior high school grade one to senior high school grade two) out of the campus. Among them, children in the junior high school age group mainly participate in local activities in Hong Kong, while high school students will go to the local area under the guidance of teachers. During the 'Growth Learning Week', different team leaders will carefully plan their specific itinerary based on the courses they teach. Wu Huanjie stated that in the past, the focus of research and exchange was mainly on geography and history. In recent years, the school has added relevant content on understanding national and special zone government policies. He gave an example that before the epidemic, the school had organized learning and exchange activities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area for three consecutive years. "Peiqiao Middle School has a 'sisters school' in every city in the Dawan District, and the exchange process enables children from both places to make friends with each other. We also hope that through this way, children can understand the development opportunities of the country, help them understand the Dawan District and participate in the construction of the Dawan District." Wu Huanjie said that in addition to the "Growth and Learning Week", the school also organizes small study and exchange groups to go to the mainland from time to time. When it comes to the way to communicate in mainland China, Wu Huanjie introduced that before the exchange group departs, the teacher not only designs a detailed itinerary, but also arranges a pre departure meeting to allow students to collect information and have a basic understanding of the visiting points. During the visit process, students will also actively ask questions and seek answers through inspection visits. After the trip, the teacher and students also summarized in different forms. Only in this way can students enhance their interest in learning, gain a deeper understanding of the country's development status, and organize meaningful study and exchange activities.
