The Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Office of Introducing Key Enterprises have contacted over 200 enterprises so far, of which more than 25 have already settled or are preparing to expand their operations in Hong Kong. Chen Maobo introduced that more than 25 companies cover multiple fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, robotics, healthcare, and life and health, possessing cutting-edge technologies in the industry. Many of them have a market value or valuation of over HKD 10 billion, and according to the current plan, in the first phase, a total of over HKD 17 billion will be invested in Hong Kong, creating over 4000 job opportunities, most of which are in scientific research or executive positions. Huawei, a leading technology company in mainland China, and Meituan, JD, and other leading e-commerce companies are also actively expanding their operations and developing new businesses in Hong Kong. The SAR government proposed Web 3.0 (Third Generation Internet) as one of the new areas driving high-quality development in this year's budget proposal. Chen Maobo stated that in the field of financial technology, as the base of Web 3.0 in Hong Kong, Cyberport has gathered over 170 related enterprises, including unicorn enterprises and industry-leading trading platforms. The founders of these enterprises come from over 20 countries and regions. Chen Maobo said that in recent years, the SAR government has made every effort to promote the development of innovation in Hong Kong, investing nearly HKD 200 billion and vigorously attracting talents, resulting in an increasingly prosperous overall innovation ecosystem. The SAR government is in deep discussions with more key domestic and overseas enterprises, and it is believed that more key enterprises will conduct business in Hong Kong in the second half of this year.
