On the 31st, Xinhua News Agency reporter Wang Feng reported that the "Hong Kong Car North" initiative has been officially implemented for one month, and new progress has been made in the interconnection between the mainland and Hong Kong. Since the comprehensive resumption of customs clearance in February this year, with the promotion of transportation capacity, the introduction of consumption promotion policies, cross-border payment and settlement innovation and other factors, cross-border consumption of mainland tourists and Hong Kong citizens to mainland cities in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area has continued to be hot. Cross border flows have shown a "two-way rush" trend, highlighting the accelerated pace of deep integration in the Greater Bay Area. Recently, the major ports between Shenzhen and Hong Kong have been bustling with people, and "cross city consumption" has become a beautiful scenery between the two places. According to data from the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Statistics, since the beginning of this year, Shenzhen's consumption recovery has been strong, with the total retail sales of consumer goods in the city reaching RMB 50.02 billion in the first half of the year, an increase of 11.5% year-on-year. The consumption heat of "Hong Kong people heading north" continues to rise. According to data from the Hong Kong Immigration Department, approximately 4.08 million Hong Kong tourists went to Shenzhen for consumption in June this year alone. At the same time, the popularity of mainland tourists visiting Hong Kong has not decreased. "Our family travelled by car to Shenzhen North station, and then came to Hong Kong by high-speed railway, ready to take children to Hong Kong Disneyland to play." At Hong Kong West Kowloon railway station, Li Sixiao from Baise, Guangxi, and her husband walked out of the ticket gate with their 2-year-old son. This was the first time that their family came to Hong Kong, and their faces were full of joy and expectation. Hong Kong tourists enter West Kowloon Station, preparing to take the high-speed rail to the mainland (photographed on July 26th). Wang Feng, a reporter from Xinhua News Agency, took a picture from Hong Kong West Kowloon railway station. It takes 14 minutes to reach Futian station in Shenzhen. According to Zhang Xiaodong, Deputy Director of Customs at West Kowloon Station under Shenzhen Customs, since the comprehensive resumption of long-distance train services on the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong high-speed railway on April 1 this year, as of the end of June, the daily average inbound and outbound passenger flow at the West Kowloon Station port has reached 55000 people, exceeding the average in 2019. "In the summer vacation of July, the daily average number of passengers reached 65000, and on July 22 and 23, nearly 100000 for two consecutive days." To cope with the high flow of people, Hong Kong Railway Co., Ltd. has also increased the number of short distance trains from Hong Kong West Kowloon railway station to and from Shenzhen since July 1, among which the number of trains to and from Futian station has increased to 38, and the number of trains to and from Shenzhen North station has increased to 51. It is understood that in addition to the West Kowloon Station port, the number of customs clearance personnel at other ports between Shenzhen and Hong Kong has also significantly increased. "I got off work at 5:00 p.m. and took the subway from Jinzhong Station. After 6:00, I went to Luohu Port. The subway went straight to Dongmen Old Street. After finishing manicure and having a barbecue, I could go back and forth between Shenzhen and Hong Kong that night." Ms. Zeng, a Hong Kong citizen, said that she would basically go to Shenzhen every month to spend money. The increasingly convenient cross-border payment environment has also accelerated the efforts of cross-border transactions and consumption in the Greater Bay Area. According to Alipay data, the popularity of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area has increased, and the travel and consumption data have increased in a stepwise manner within half a year. The "Hong Kong Fashion" Shopping Festival opened in Shenzhen attracted nearly 80 Hong Kong exhibitors and more than 130 Brand Hong Kong to participate (photographed on May 26). Xinhua News Agency reporter Wang Feng also actively introduced various measures to attract more tourists to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. In May this year, the "Hong Kong Fashion" shopping festival was held in Shenzhen, with nearly 80 stores
