The Stars of History - Modern and Contemporary Shanghai Style Calligraphy Exhibition was exhibited in the China Art Museum (Shanghai Art Museum). The Shanghai style calligraphy for pictures provided by the China Art Museum originated from the opening of Shanghai as a port, and rose in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China. With its burgeoning aesthetic creativity and strong artistic inclusiveness, it presents an open cultural horizon, innovative artistic concepts, and an active group of calligraphers, casting a brilliant and colorful chapter in the history of Chinese calligraphy. The "Neishidi" located in Chuansha, Pudong, Shanghai is one of the origins of the rise of Shanghai style calligraphy. In the ninth year of the Xianfeng reign of the Qing Dynasty (1859), Shen Shuyong was elected as a candidate and appointed as a cabinet secretary, renovating his ancestral residence as the "Nei Shi Di". Shen Shuyong, a calligrapher and collector, strongly recommended Zhao Zhiqian's art, thus making Zhao Zhiqian the leader of the former Shanghai style calligraphy. The real "prelude" to the rise of Shanghai style calligraphy and painting is the "Deyue Tower" in Yu Garden. The Yu Garden Painting and Calligraphy Charity Association, which was founded in 1909, leased "Deyue Tower" as the venue, not only ordered Runge for its members, organized exhibitions and promoted painters, but also was the first charity organization for painting and calligraphy disaster relief in Late modern period of Shanghai, marking the real formation of the Shanghai style group of painters and calligraphers. Wu Changshuo's Eight character Couplet. Since the China Art Museum provided the pictures, the inheritance of Shanghai style calligraphy has been full of ideas. The first generation of Zhao Zhiqian, Wu Changshuo, Kang Youwei and others mainly focus on stele writing, the second generation of Shen Yinmo, Pan Boying and others focus on paste writing, and the third generation of Hu Wensui, Zhou Huijun and others focus on paste writing compatibility. "The arrow fish boat is beautiful when it comes out of the water, and the tiger shooter returns to the original tree." Wu Changshuo's "Eight character Couplet" in the exhibition hall is vigorous and vigorous, with high and simple lines, majestic and heroic momentum, and permeates the unique spirit of gold and stone. Wu Changshuo has profound knowledge, extensive experience and unique attainments, and has made all-round breakthroughs in calligraphy, painting and seal cutting. His calligraphy mainly adopts the methods of stone drums, bell tripods, and Han steles, especially with the use of stone drums as a flexible medium. The brushwork is round, simple, and powerful, with a high ancient atmosphere and elegant demeanor, reaching the realm of "extraordinary composure" and "strong bones" with a clumsy and unique appearance. In Shen Yinmo's "Seven Character Couplet", the pen is strong and elegant, the structure is rigorous and steady, and the book is rich in volume, exuding a Tang style and regular script. Shen Yinmo studied in Japan in his early years, and later became a professor of Peking University, president of Peking University, and editorial board member of New Youth magazine. His calligraphy skills are profound, his brushstrokes are exquisite, his artistic style is elegant, and he is particularly skilled in running calligraphy. He is an outstanding representative of calligraphers in the history of modern calligraphy. Master Hongyi's "Eight Character Couplet".
