On July 26, Wang Yi, Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, held talks with Türkiye's Foreign Minister Feidan in Ankara. Wang Yi stated that both China and Turkey are representatives of emerging market countries and major developing countries, possessing broad common interests and enormous potential for cooperation. China supports Türkiye to follow a development path that is in line with its own national conditions, to safeguard its national independence, sovereignty and legitimate rights and interests, to play a more important role in the regional and international arena, and to oppose any interference in Turkey's internal affairs. China is willing to work with the new government of Turkey to enhance strategic mutual trust, strengthen strategic coordination, deepen cooperation in various fields, firmly support each other in safeguarding core interests and national security and stability, promote more fruitful results in the strategic cooperation relationship between China and Turkey, and open up new prospects and inject new impetus into the development of bilateral relations. Wang Yi said that the two sides should make good use of bilateral cooperation mechanisms such as the China Turkey Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, promote the in-depth connection between the "the Belt and Road" initiative and Turkey's "Middle Corridor" plan, and continue to promote cooperation in energy, education, culture and other fields. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Turkey, support enterprises from both countries in using their local currencies for trade settlement, and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest and start business in Turkey. China is willing to work with Turkey to strengthen coordination and cooperation under multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations, the Group of 20, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, to jointly voice the voice of emerging market countries, maintain true multilateralism, maintain the stability of the global supply chain industry chain, oppose Unilateralism, "decoupling" and other wrong practices, and inject more stability into a troubled world. Feidan stated that Turkey attaches great importance to developing relations with China, does not agree with China's economic and technological "threat theory", opposes smearing and containing China's development, and does not allow activities that undermine China's territorial integrity to be carried out in Turkey. Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of common concern. (New News Agency)
