Lie on your side and watch your phone, be careful not to cause physical damage

Many people like to lie in bed and watch their phones, but they don't realize that although it may be refreshing for a while, it can be harmful to their health in the long run. Recently, there were media reports that a man's right eye vision significantly decreased in the short term and went to the hospital for treatment. Upon examination, it was found that the man had normal vision in his left eye but developed myopia in his right eye. After the doctor inquired, he learned that the man was accustomed to lying on his side in bed and reading his phone for several hours at a glance. So, what are the hazards of lying on your side and watching your phone for a long time? How should we prevent it? With these questions in mind, reporters from Science and Technology Daily interviewed relevant experts. It may lead to strabismus. When lying on one side and looking at a mobile phone, the distance between the eyes and the phone is different, and the ability of the eyes to adjust vision is also different. Over time, it can cause differences in the refractive power of both eyes, which is clinically known as anisometropia. The data shows that anisometropia can be divided into two types: physiological and pathological. According to the unified trial diagnostic standard (1985) proposed by the National Group for the Prevention and Treatment of Amblyopia and Strabismus in Children, the difference in refractive power between the two eyes is 1.50D or greater under the spherical lens, and 1D or greater under the cylindrical lens, which is pathological anisometropia. The symptoms are Eye strain, alternating vision (using one eye when looking far, another eye when looking near) and strabismus. Regarding previous media reports on the adverse effects of lying on one's side while watching a mobile phone on the eyes, the Deputy Director of the Ophthalmology Medical Department of the People's Liberation Army General Hospital Professor Tao Hai, the Chief physician, told the reporter: "In fact, there is no large sample, random and double-blind scientific research results to confirm the adverse effects of the mobile phone, but one thing is clear, that is, whether it is lying on its side or lying down looking at the mobile phone, as long as it lasts for a long time, it may cause adverse effects on the eyes." He further explained that during the growth and development period of human beings, There is a clear causal relationship between prolonged close proximity (usually within a range of 5 meters) and the occurrence of myopia. Moreover, the closer the distance between the eyes and the object being viewed, the longer the duration, and the more obvious this causal relationship, which has been confirmed by scientific research. Because the eyes are used at short distance for a long time, the Ciliary muscle in the eye will contract continuously for a long time, which will lead to adjustment spasm, eye soreness and fatigue, and then lead to the increase of the anterior and posterior diameter of the eye, and finally become myopia. In addition to affecting vision, long-term lying on one's side while watching a mobile phone can also compress muscles and spine, which may cause lumbar and cervical spine injury. Guo Wei, director of the Sports Medicine Branch of the Chinese Society of Biophysics and an expert in sports rehabilitation, said that if a person does not have good support when lying on his side looking at his mobile phone, the waist muscles close to the bed will be tense, and for a long time, it may cause scoliosis and even induce lumbar problems. Unbalanced muscles on both sides can also cause lower back pain. Long periods of lateral lying may have a more severe impact on the cervical spine. The neck droops excessively, the body bends unnaturally, and the neck leans forward more and more... This posture will make the sternocleido Papillary muscle of the neck stretch forward continuously. Over time, the vertebral artery is prone to being compressed and causing cervical spondylosis, resulting in chronic strain. How to treat the above symptoms? Guo Wei told reporters that when pain first occurs, do not massage excessively, but apply ice compress and minimize activity as much as possible. Within 48 hours after the onset of pain, in addition to stretching, relaxing, and massaging, you can also
