Dunhuang is an important hub for the intersection of Eastern and Western cultures in history, and holds an important position on the Silk Road. Integrating East and West, creating a magnificent view; The wind and sand blow away, blooming with new looks. This is Dunhuang! Generations of guardians, only for the purpose of 'passing down generations'. Overlooking from an airplane, Dunhuang is surrounded by the vast Gobi, like a lone boat. In 366 AD, Lezun Monk, who traveled all over the world, came to Dunhuang on the yellow sand, and the construction of Mogao Caves began. From the 4th century to the 14th century, over a period of over 1000 years, generations of people opened caves and created statues, creating a world-renowned treasure trove of art. 735 caves, 45000 square meters of murals, and over 2000 painted sculptures record the changes in history and the evolution of art, and pass down comprehensive historical materials. Eternal craftsmanship creates a treasure trove of art; From generation to generation, we have been keeping watch, with a continuous cultural atmosphere. Chang Shuhong, Duan Wenjie and other cultural relics workers in Dunhuang sleep on the sand dunes along the Dangquan River. Their tombstones, facing Mogao Caves from afar, are awe inspiring. In the 1940s, the artist Chang Shuhong came from the sand like the monk Le Zun in those days, lived in the stables with his fellows, drank muddy water, and cleared the sand accumulated in more than 300 caves with his hands. Duan Wenjie, Fan Jinshi and other "baton takers" rushed to Dunhuang. They are committed to protecting the cultural heritage of Dunhuang while also delving into the study of this vast and profound art treasure trove. In the 1980s, Duan Wenjie, who was then the director of the Dunhuang Cultural Relics Research Institute, devoted himself to clothing research and read more than 100 materials in order to copy the "Buddha Worship Painting of the Governor's Wife"; Fan Jinshi completed the periodization of the Mogao Caves in the Northern Dynasty, the Sui Dynasty and the early Tang Dynasty; The publication of Collection of Dunhuang Studies, the publication of Dunhuang Studies Studies, and the holding of the National Dunhuang Academic Symposium... generations of Dunhuang Studies scholars have been fearing hardships, persevering in pioneering and forging ahead with fruitful research achievements. ▲ Que shaped niche in Cave 275 of Mogao Caves. The Dunhuang Research Academy's "lofty spirit" of "adhering to the desert, being willing to contribute, being brave to take responsibility, pioneering and enterprising" has become the driving force of the Dunhuang Research Academy.
