Recently, reporters learned from State Grid that with the rise of temperatures in various regions, the electricity load in the operating areas of State Grid continues to rise. Recently, the maximum daily electricity load has reached 860 million kilowatts, an increase of 7.77% year-on-year. In major electricity consuming provinces such as Jiangsu and Guangdong, the power load is rapidly increasing, and relevant departments are also increasing their efforts in power grid dispatch to cope with the arrival of summer electricity peak. In June, the daily average electricity load of Jiangsu Power Grid continued to maintain at around 100 million kilowatts, nearly 10 million kilowatts higher than the same period last year. The highest daytime load on June 13th occurred at 16:05 pm, reaching 99.82 million kilowatts, with air conditioning cooling load accounting for nearly 15%. Qiu Chenguang, Director of the Dispatching and Operation Department of Jiangsu Power Dispatching and Control Center of State Grid: 80% of the electricity generated within the province is generated, while 20% is generated from outside the region. Next, we will fully leverage the role of power grid resource allocation, closely monitor temperature conditions, and actively strive for external power resources to meet the electricity demand of the province to the greatest extent possible. In Guangdong, affected by the recent Horse latitudes and the downdraft around Typhoon "Mawa", the power load keeps rising. As of the end of May, the highest load in Guangdong Province has increased by about 20% year-on-year, approaching the highest level in history, with an average daily air conditioning load of about 45 million kilowatts. Bao Bo, Manager of the Operation and Policy Department of the Guangdong Power Grid Control Center of China Southern Power Grid, stated that digital methods are used to intelligently manage electricity loads, continuously optimize dispatch operations, and ensure the smooth operation of Guangdong power supply. Guangdong Yangjiang Pumped-storage hydroelectricity is also undergoing its first summer "big test" in the peak period after it is fully put into operation. The power station is equipped with three 400 megawatt super capacity pumped storage units, with the largest unit capacity in operation in China. Cai Mingzhi, General Manager of Yangjiang Energy Storage and Power Generation Company of Southern Power Grid Energy Storage Company: Since the peak summer, the Yangjiang Storage Power Station has started and stopped an average of 9 times a day, operated at full load for over 9 hours, pumped 7.45 million kWh of electricity, and generated 6.17 million kWh of electricity, which can meet the peak electricity demand of nearly 600000 residential users. Since May, 31 pumped storage units in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area have generated 1.31 billion kWh, a record high. China Electricity Union stated that the current overall coal storage of power enterprises is sufficient, providing strong support and guarantee for the supply of electricity during peak and summer periods. Zhang Lin, Director of the Planning and Development Department of the China Electric Power Enterprise Federation: As of June 4th, the total coal inventory of coal-fired power plants in the power generation group within the statistical scope was 113 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 21.35 million tons, the highest value in nearly four years. The available days of coal inventory in power plants can reach 25.6 days. (New News Agency)
