On the 14th, at the high-level open meeting of the Security Council for the Maintenance of International Peace and Security, Zhang Jun, the Permanent representative to the United Nations to the United Nations, called for respect for the diversity of human civilizations and focus on common development. Zhang Jun stated that diversity is a fundamental feature of the world and a source of human progress. Civilization can only be distinguished by distinctive regions, and there is no distinction between high or low quality. Believing that one's own civilization is superior and persistently transforming or even replacing other civilizations is foolish in understanding and disastrous in practice. In history, driven by the "theory of superiority of civilization" and "white Suprematism", colonial conquest and plunder caused unprecedented havoc in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Nowadays, interference, provocation and incitement under the banner of "Universal value" are creating new conflicts and confrontations. China advocates that in an interdependent world, countries should not only have the pride to revitalize their own civilizations, but also have the tolerance to accommodate the development of other civilizations, and also have the foresight to promote exchanges and mutual learning among different civilizations. Zhang Jun said that mutual respect, equal treatment, and enhancing mutual trust are the basic prerequisites for maintaining stability and positive interaction among countries. Recently, Saudi Arabia and Iran announced the resumption of diplomatic relations through the Beijing dialogue, sparking a "wave of reconciliation" in the region. Syria returned to the Arab League and the Arab family reunited after 12 years. These have all set a good example of mutual respect and transcending differences among countries, injecting positive energy into the unity and cooperation of regional countries. The international community should also seize the opportunity to enhance its sense of urgency, comprehensively and justly resolve the Palestinian question on the basis of the "Two-state solution", promote the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel, and promote the joint development of the Arab and Jewish peoples. Under the new situation, members of the Security Council should enhance unity, demonstrate responsibility, and better fulfill their responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security. Zhang Jun said that in some countries, social fragmentation and Political polarization are prominent, which not only affect their own stability and development, but also lead to the conservative populism of their foreign policies, resulting in significant negative spillover effects. Relevant countries need to deeply reflect and seriously address the chronic problems of their own national governance, rather than blaming others and seeking scapegoats. Especially political leaders should bear historical responsibility, gather social consensus, actively promote reform, and cannot follow the trend of populism. Hatred speech exacerbates social tearing. Extremism prevails, false and false information is rampant, religious intolerance, racial discrimination against people of African descent and Asian descent and human rights violations are increasing, and "Islamophobia" has risen to epidemic level, which should cause concern and vigilance. Of course, freedom of expression should be protected, but this should not be a Talisman for hate speech, let alone an excuse for government inaction. Terrorism is a cancer of human civilization. Terrorism cannot be linked with any nation, religion, country or civilization. Zhang Jun emphasized that achieving development is an important symbol and concrete manifestation of human civilization progress. At present, the recovery of the world economy is becoming increasingly difficult. Developing countries face serious challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Many hard won development achievements have even been lost. The special vulnerability of developing countries fundamentally stems from the unjust and unreasonable international economic order. Moreover, some countries are vigorously promoting technology in order to maintain their advantageous position
