The Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government announced on the 14th that the 2023 Mainland, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and Macau Special Administrative Region Intellectual Property Seminar will be held in Macau on the same day. Nearly 200 government officials, experts, scholars, and industry representatives from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao SAR attended the seminar. Xu Zhijiang, Deputy Director of the Patent Office of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, said that the China National Intellectual Property Administration has been actively promoting exchanges and cooperation between the mainland and the Hong Kong and Macao special zones in the field of intellectual property. In the future, it will continue to implement a series of major decisions and arrangements such as the Outline of the Development Plan of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, the "14th Five Year Plan" for national economic and social development, and continue to strengthen support for the intellectual property work of the Hong Kong and Macao special zones. Dai Jianye, Director of the Secretary for Development of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, pointed out that the Science and Technology Bureau continued to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, provide assistance to Macao enterprises that need to obtain intellectual property protection in the mainland and Hong Kong, and actively encourage enterprises to improve their awareness of intellectual property protection. In terms of regional cooperation, we worked with all parties in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area to hold seminars, intellectual property trade fairs, high-value patent contests and other activities to jointly provide strong support for the construction of the Greater Bay Area and promote the integrated development of innovation and intellectual property in the Greater Bay Area. The Director of the Intellectual Property Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Huang Fulai, stated that the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has been actively strengthening the protection and application of intellectual property rights, providing a solid foundation for promoting intellectual property trade. The 14th Five Year Plan, the construction of the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and other national strategies have brought major opportunities. Hong Kong will further deepen exchanges and mutual learning with the mainland and Macao, achieve mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas of intellectual property, and make contributions to the development of the country and the Greater Bay Area.
