The protection and supervision mechanism for historical and cultural cities, towns, villages, historical and cultural blocks, and traditional villages is becoming increasingly sound, and cooperation between various regions and departments is becoming increasingly frequent. The legal and regulatory system for cultural heritage protection is constantly improving. The 2023 legislative work plan announced by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress includes the revision of the Cultural Relics Protection Law. Ten provinces, including Beijing, Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Fujian, Shandong, Guangdong, Chongqing, and Shaanxi, have introduced local regulations on revolutionary cultural relics, underground cultural relics, social cultural relics, and cultural heritage.
