In 2021, the Beijing Philharmonic Choir performed on-site at the National Grand Theatre. In 2017, the Beijing Philharmonic Choir took a group photo during their performance in Arezzo, Italy. Not long ago, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Beijing Philharmonic Choir, members of the founding period gathered from around the world to sing Schubert's cheerful "Trout" again. In the singing, the old members seemed to return to the rehearsal ground, back to the shining days accompanied by music. This song moved me, and I thought of my first time as a baton conductor, the children singing in the choir. Time flows through the musical notes, and generations of children grow up happily. The Golden Sail Chorus of Beijing No. 2 Experimental Primary School, the Oriental Skylark Chorus of Yuexiu District Children's Palace of Guangzhou, and the "Little Silver Bell" Children's Chorus of Baiyin, Gansu... children take the wings of art to step on the international stage, show the wonderful songs of Chinese children to the world, and convey friendship, beauty and hope. Childhood enlightenment, companionship with music, perhaps everyone has had this experience: long after a concert is over, the emotions are still surging. The reason why excellent music works can "bypass the bridge for three days" is because it triggers our emotional valve. Music is about the soul, it cannot be seen or touched, and it requires a gradual cultivation of insight in order to comprehend the beauty within; Music is about the spirit, it is infinitely broad, and with the growth of experience, one can realize that it can continuously expand the spiritual space. When I was a child, my parents created opportunities for me to enter and fall in love with music, and since then, I have had an additional "good companion" on my growth path. Tchaikovsky's "Sixth Symphony" once helped me overcome the confusion and wandering of adolescence, not only relieving my chest of obstacles, but also giving me a deeper understanding of life. So is Mahler's grand symphony. The notes in his works depict the emotion vividly, but eventually rise to the pursuit of the meaning of life, which is transcendence. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Richard Strauss... the works of outstanding musicians both domestically and internationally are no exception. For children, music not only showcases an infinite and vast spiritual world, but also serves as a daily companion in life. Little water flows long, moistening things silently. Many children in choirs have a similar experience: after completing their studies, they have to go to the choir no matter how tired they are. Even if they only sit in the rehearsal hall for two hours, they can still feel happy. For them, singing is a habitat for the artistic soul and a paradise for childhood spirit. I hope that all children can have music to accompany them during their growth, and establish a channel from a young age that connects sensitive feelings and sincere expression. Art is the expression of true emotions and feelings; Techniques are the means to achieve an end. Many children, even if they do not participate in a choir, will inadvertently be moved by a certain song or melody, swaying along with it, and experiencing emotional ups and downs as the notes flow. This is such a beautiful moment. Some children play songs that are simple but full of spirituality and sincerity. Letting children fall in love with music in their childhood may be one of the best gifts parents can give their children.
