The 29th Annual Conference of the International Chinese Linguistics Society, which lasted for 3 days, kicked off on the 27th at the University of Science and Technology of Macau, with over 300 experts and scholars from around the world participating in this academic event. Li Xingwei, President of Macau University of Science and Technology, stated in his opening speech that internationalization is an important direction for the development of Macau University of Science and Technology. Australian University of Science and Technology has established educational and research partnerships with top universities in mainland China and internationally in multiple fields, and looks forward to expanding more exchanges and cooperation with domestic and international scholars in the field of linguistics in China. Zhu Yuexiao, President of the International Society of Chinese Linguistics, stated that he expects more scholars to join the family of the International Society of Chinese Linguistics and further promote the development of the society and research in Chinese linguistics. Many Taiwanese scholars have come to Macau to participate in this annual conference, and Wang Gang, the director of the Macao office of the Cross Strait Relations Association, warmly welcomes this. He hopes that more Taiwanese scholars will come to Macau and the Greater Bay Area, and engage in exchanges and exchanges with their counterparts in Macau and mainland China, in order to jointly promote the peaceful development of cross-strait relations. The International Society of Chinese Linguistics was established in 1992 and is a global academic organization studying Chinese language and linguistics. This annual conference is hosted by the International College of Macau University of Science and Technology, which is also the first time that the society has held an annual conference in Macau. This year's annual conference will feature 12 keynote speeches and 34 guest speeches. More than 200 regular report papers were selected from 620 regular submissions at the annual conference, covering the latest research related to Chinese and other languages within China, covering many core linguistic and interdisciplinary fields.
