The second Greater Bay Area Engineers Forum was held in Hong Kong on the 21st. Representatives from the engineering and technology industries in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, as well as international engineering organizations, jointly explore topics such as promoting communication and cooperation, collaborative innovation, and international connectivity between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao engineering communities. At the same time, the organizer proposed the establishment of the Greater Bay Area Engineer Consortium at the meeting. The theme of this forum is "Engineering Innovation Bay Connecting the World", aiming to strengthen communication and cooperation between the engineering and technology communities of mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, and create a high-level academic exchange platform for collaborative innovation. Chen Xuedong, vice chairman of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology and academician of the CAE Member, said in his speech at the meeting that the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area provides engineers with more opportunities for innovation and space to expand their talents. He hopes that the technology associations in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao can improve their level of communication and service, unite and lead engineers to jointly promote the integration of innovation, industry, talent, and capital chains, improve the transformation and industrialization of engineering and technological achievements, and become an important force in promoting the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Science and Technology Innovation Center. Wang Xi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor, delivered a video speech stating that this forum provides an important platform for the improvement of professional level and international cooperation in the field of engineering technology between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macao. He hopes that engineers can make full use of this platform, actively leverage their professional advantages, and better participate in the construction and development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Guangdong will make every effort to create a market-oriented, legal, and international business environment, providing service guarantees for engineers' innovation and entrepreneurship. The Director of the Development Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Ning Hanhao, stated in his speech that Hong Kong actively cooperates with the national "14th Five Year Plan" and supports the strategy of high-quality construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Hong Kong will strengthen cooperation with other cities in the region, fully leverage its unique advantages of relying on its motherland and connecting with the world, play the role of "bringing in" and "going out", promote complementary advantages, and leverage synergies to jointly build the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area into an internationally renowned bay area. On the same day, the organizer proposed the establishment of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Engineer Consortium at the meeting. The consortium will be composed of the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology, the Guangdong Society of Engineers, the Hong Kong Society of Engineers, the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, the Macau Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology, and the Macau Society of Engineers.
