The scientist of the black hole that humans first "saw" took a panorama

2023-04-28

Scientists have made new observations on the black hole that humans first "saw". Reporters learned from the Chinese Academy of Sciences on the 26th that scientists first imaged the shadow of the black hole and its surrounding ring structure together with a strong jet through observations in the millimeter wave band. The image shows for the first time the connection between the accretion flow near the central supermassive black hole and the origin of the jet. The study was completed by an international research team led by Lu Rusen, a researcher at the Shanghai Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The related results were published in the international academic journal Nature on April 26th. (New News Agency)
