Apple is developing an "AI Fitness Coach" emotional tracker and iPad health app to be the first to debut

2023-04-26

Famous technology journalist Mark Gurman revealed on Tuesday that Apple, which has been obsessed with the health industry in recent years, is churning out some interesting new applications. Among them, the most anticipated is a new coaching program nicknamed Quartz. According to insiders, this app aims to help users maintain their enthusiasm for exercise, improve their eating habits and sleep quality. The principle behind it is to combine data from Apple Watch watches and AI algorithms to customize special exercise programs for users. From the above description, it is not difficult to see that this application is not only the latest member of Apple's health strategy, but also an important selling point for Apple Watch. Apple declined to comment on this. According to reports, Apple's health, Siri, AI, and service teams are currently participating in this project, but it will not be available until next year at the earliest. Apple has previously collaborated with the Singaporean government to launch LumiHealth's exercise and health services. What is relatively "simple and rough" is that the incentive tool inside is an electronic consumption voucher issued by Singapore. Obviously, Apple's "AI Coach" is likely to be a subscription service, and how to motivate users to "continue spending money" and maintain "continuous exercise" will undoubtedly be a significant challenge. Compared to next year's application, WWDC will also have a series of fitness app updates in over a month. Firstly, Apple will launch an iPad version of the 'Health' app, which will allow users to view electrocardiogram results and other health data on a larger screen. Apple hopes this move will increase the popularity of the application in the medical and healthcare fields. In addition, tools for tracking emotions and managing visual conditions (such as myopia) will also be added to the 'Health' app this year. The initial version of the emotion tracker will be run by users actively recording their emotions, answering a series of questions, and comparing the results with those over a period of time. Apple hopes to use algorithms in the future to determine the user's psychological state through their voice, input statements, and other data on the device. It is worth mentioning that the upcoming Apple MR device, which will be unveiled in June, will also be a part of the health strategy. Apple will provide MR users with meditation function, and an optimized version of the fitness+application is also under development. According to previous reports, as a core peripheral of its health strategy, Apple is also preparing to add blood pressure monitoring functionality to the Apple Watch in the coming years. However, this feature does not directly display high and low pressure numbers, but rather informs users that there may be a problem with hypertension and that they need to look for a traditional blood pressure monitor or go directly to a doctor. What's even more mysterious is that Apple is also secretly promoting non-invasive blood glucose monitoring projects, and the current achievement is to shrink the device to the size of an iPhone. The ultimate goal of the team is to shrink the sensor to the extent that it can fit into the watch. (New News Agency)
