On April 12th, a 40 TEU container train loaded with refrigerators slowly departed from Huangpu Freight Station on the Nansha Port Railway and headed towards the endpoint of the line - Nansha Port. The owner of the goods on the train is Guangdong Oma Refrigerator Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Oma Refrigerator"), a giant of Zhongshan Honda Tujia Electric. This train is the second train from Oma Refrigerator to Huangpu Freight Station after March 29th this year. Through the Nansha Port Railway, the products of Oma Refrigerator directly reach Nansha Port, sailing out to enter the European market. The official opening and operation of Huangpu Freight Station on the Nansha Port Railway means that a direct connection channel has been established between the northern industrial cluster of Zhongshan and Nansha Port, which is also the first "point-to-point" freight railway in Zhongshan that directly connects Nansha Port. The Nansha Port Railway has been connected to the China Europe Railway. Through the Nansha Port Railway and the China Europe Railway, Zhongshan's manufacturing industry will access the international market in a more convenient and cost-effective manner. The freight system of Zhongshan Port is also actively connecting to the east. Recently, the "Zhongshan Shenwan Port to Shenzhen Shekou Port" has officially opened, which is the third combined port route opened between Zhongshan and Shenzhen ports this year. With the implementation of new routes and models, the integration of international port systems in Zhongshan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and other surrounding areas is accelerating, and a "road rail sea" intermodal foreign trade freight pattern is gradually taking shape. The construction of the Nansha Port Railway, a new line of "open sea rail" intermodal transportation with "one box to the end", began in October 2016. In 2016, the total sales of Oma Refrigerator refrigerators exceeded 7.5 million units, and the export volume remained the first in the country for 8 consecutive years. The prominent geographical advantage makes the Huangshu Freight Station on the Nansha Port Railway an "inevitable choice" for Oma refrigerators. The direct distance between the Oma refrigerator production plant and the Nansha Port Railway Huangpu Freight Station is less than 10 kilometers, and the transportation distance is within 30 minutes. After the products arrive at Huangpu Freight Station from the Oma Refrigerator factory area, they can receive a full process service from loading to boarding, achieving the effect of moving the port to the "doorstep". After the Oma Refrigerator products enter the container, they can be transported by road, railway, and sea "one box to the end", directly reaching overseas target market ports. Feng Changjiang stated that after the opening of the sea rail intermodal transportation line from Zhongshan Huangpu to Nansha Port, it provides a trailer and a third port collection channel outside of the waterway for Oma Refrigerator. Compared to road transportation, the cost of sea rail intermodal transportation at Nansha Port Railway Huangpu Station will be reduced by about 20%. As the first railway freight station in Zhongshan, Huangsha Port Railway Huangpu Freight Station has made up for Zhongshan's shortcomings in railway freight.
