The Japanese exploration satellite "Kuafu 1" has opened up observation data for domestic and international trials

2023-04-13

The reporter learned from the Zijinshan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the quasi real time observation data of China's first comprehensive solar exploration satellite, "Kuafu I", will be open for trial at home and abroad from the 12th. The scope of this data trial includes all observation data from the Solar Hard X-ray Imager (HXI) starting from April 1st, partial observation data from the All Solar Vector Magnetic Imager (FMG), partial observation data from the Lehmann Alpha Solar Telescope (LST), and their subsequent quasi real-time observation data. Gan Weiwei, the chief scientist of the satellite and the researcher of the Zijinshan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that after six months of in orbit debugging, the "Kuafu 1" satellite has obtained about 80TB of original solar observation data. Taking into account satellite operation and other factors, we currently have the conditions for some data to be open to the public in quasi real-time. Kuafu 1 "is China's first comprehensive solar exploration satellite, successfully launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on October 9, 2022. The scientific goal is to observe the solar magnetic field and the two most severe eruptive phenomena on the sun - flares and coronal mass ejections - simultaneously on a satellite platform, studying their formation, evolution, interaction, and correlation. The news of the trial opening of the "Kuafu 1" satellite observation data was announced by the Zijinshan Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the leading unit of the "Kuafu 1" satellite engineering science application system, and the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the leading unit of the ground support system, and the National Space Science Data Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Space Science Data Center at the online conference on the global release of data trial opening and data use training jointly held from November 11 to 12. Nearly 400 solar physics scholars from more than 20 countries attended the meeting. "As far as the discipline of solar physics is concerned, it is an international practice to open the observation data of the solar exploration satellite. The quasi real-time observation data of the 'Kuafu 1' satellite will be open to peers at home and abroad without difference, so as to realize data sharing. Later, the scientific team will make adjustments as appropriate according to the satellite in orbit test, so as to finally achieve the quasi real-time opening of all the satellite observation data." Gan Weiqun said. (New News Agency)
