The exhibition "Green Field Trail - Archaeological Evidence of prehistoric life in Northeast China" is currently being held at the Archaeological and Art Museum of Jilin University. Since its launch, the exhibition has attracted a large number of visitors. The exhibition is divided into three units: "cave dwelling, settlement, and settlement", providing a panoramic view of the living methods of the ancestors in the prehistoric Northeast region. Modern technology is also used to strengthen the interaction between cultural relics and visitors, allowing visitors to experience the gradual development of human society and experience the wisdom of prehistoric humans in this process. The "green field" represents a scene, which is a representation of geographical space and a restoration of life scenes, while the "first trace" expresses the life traces of the ancestors. Tang Miao, Deputy Director of the Archaeology and Art Museum of Jilin University, introduced that nearly a hundred exhibits in this exhibition are all specimens unearthed from field archaeological excavations and collections of Jilin University. Prehistory in China generally refers to the period from the discovery of ancient humans to the establishment of the Xia Dynasty. In the cave dwelling unit, visitors can see all kinds of stone tools, the most representative of which is obsidian of the Paleolithic, and the black blazing rock is displayed in the form of stone core, stone flake, stone leaf, and fine stone leaf. The stone flakes are produced by stone nuclei, and further processing forms stone leaves and fine stone leaves. Visitors take photos as souvenirs in the museum. According to Liu Dong and Tang Miao, obsidian is an acid volcanic rock with sharp and sharp fractures. Ancient people made various tools from obsidian, especially after trimming the blade, it will become a composite tool, which is easier to use when embedded in a wooden handle. These tools were all unearthed near Changbai Mountain in Jilin. In the settlement unit, various pottery pots and animal fossils are intensively displayed. Ancient humans created various pottery jars to store grain. One pottery jar after another also symbolizes their happy life. The most famous exhibit in this section is the Stone Dragon (this exhibition is a replica, the real one is collected by the National Museum), which is currently recognized by the academic community as the "First Dragon of China". Tang Miao introduced that this stone dragon was excavated by archaeologists from Jilin University in 1985 in Zuojiashan, Nong'an, Jilin Province. It is carved from limestone and has a history of over 6000 years. It already possesses the embryonic form of a dragon and is more than 1000 years older than the famous Hongshan Jade Dragon in terms of time. In the settlement unit, clever exhibition layout allows visitors to better experience the natural living conditions of ancient people. This section focuses on showcasing the fishing and hunting lives of the ancient people. The exhibits have been changed to a showcase style exhibition and placed directly in the holographic projection scene, making it convenient for visitors to watch up close. Many visitors expressed that the exhibition not only gave them an understanding of the lives of the ancestors in Northeast China, but also exposed them to their ingenious thoughts and wisdom through various tools.
