In the latest research, the research team used a cesium fountain clock, which is one of the most accurate clocks in the world. In addition to using this clock, researchers also used anti cesium atoms produced by anti matter factories and measured them. The results showed that their excitation frequency was lower than that of cesium: the oscillator needed to oscillate 8499682790 times to excite its atoms. By taking the average of matter and antimatter, the research team calculated that the cesium 13 atom oscillated 8846157280 times for 1 second, which is approximately 96% of the current definition. At present, there are 86400 seconds in a day, and using the new method, there are 89784 seconds in a day, which is equivalent to 24 hours, 56 minutes, and 24 seconds, approximately 25 hours. A spokesperson for the research team pointed out that it is time to update the definition of seconds with antimatter, which can offset some uncertainty and make measurements more accurate.
