2023-03-31

The launching ceremony and briefing of the "Tai Wan District Youth Employment Plan" organized by the Labour Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center on the 30th. The Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Sun Yuhan, said that as long as Hong Kong youth are willing to venture into mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area and see the world, there are unlimited opportunities for everyone to try. Sun Yuhan attended the launch ceremony and delivered a speech on the same day, stating that the Hong Kong SAR government will pilot the "Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Plan" in 2021, encouraging enterprises with businesses in Hong Kong and mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area to hire university graduates from Hong Kong and assign them to work in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area. On March 1, 2023, the SAR government officially regularized the plan and implemented optimization measures, such as appointing Hong Kong institutions with rich service experience in the mainland to strengthen targeted support for employed youth in the mainland. At the event site, the "Dawan District Youth Employment Plan" recruitment expo was also held simultaneously, with a total of more than 20 institutions from different industries participating, providing job seekers with over 400 job vacancies in mainland cities in the Dawan District, including management interns, administrative directors, bank operations clerks, news editors, product designers, engineers, and business intelligence analysts. Sun Yuhan believes that the greatest significance of the recruitment expo of the "Dawan District Youth Employment Plan" is to show Hong Kong youth who are interested in seeking opportunities in the Dawan District what types of enterprises are participating in the plan. Recruitment Expo offers a wide range of employment opportunities, ranging from traditional finance and real estate to emerging industries such as technology and new economy jobs. "As long as Hong Kong youth are willing to venture into mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area and see the world, there are unlimited opportunities for everyone to try." It is reported that the Labor Department has so far received more than 800 job vacancies from more than 80 enterprises, The SAR government will also continue to invite different enterprises to provide more vacancies. Sun Yuhan believes that working in mainland cities in the Dawan District can help young people who participate in the program establish interpersonal networks and understand the business environment in the mainland, greatly improving their horizons and abilities.
