In order to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the promulgation of the Basic Law of Macao, the Macao Special Administrative Region Government will organize a series of activities in conjunction with civil society organizations to promote diverse and cross media law popularization for more than nine months, deepen the understanding of the Basic Law among all sectors of society, accurately understand the principle of "one country, two systems", and enhance national recognition. The Macao Basic Law Promotion Association, the Legal Affairs Bureau of the SAR Government, the Urban Affairs Department, and the Education and Youth Development Bureau held a press conference on the 29th to introduce various commemorative activities that have been launched since this month. According to reports, the SAR government will hold a conference to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the promulgation of the Macao Basic Law at 10:00 a.m. on March 31. On the afternoon of the same day, the Macao Basic Law Promotion Association and the Legal Bureau will jointly organize a seminar to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the promulgation of the Macao Basic Law, inviting a number of senior legal scholars from the mainland and Macao to give a keynote speech. Starting from April 2, an exhibition commemorating the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of the Macao Basic Law will be held at the Macao Science Museum for two months. The exhibition will showcase over 350 photos documenting Macao's nearly 180 year history; Presents historical photos of important moments such as the Sino Portuguese negotiations, the signing of the Sino Portuguese Joint Declaration, and the promulgation and implementation of the Macao Basic Law in a multimedia interactive format. The exhibition will also visit 8 communities across Australia to promote the Basic Law. The series of activities also includes: "I and the Basic Law" Parent-Child Day for Legal Popularization, "I and the Constitution and the Basic Law Speech Competition, Basic Law Training Courses," Growing up with the Law - Youth Family Parent-Child Series "," Constitution and the Basic Law Campus Promotion Plan Competition, "Macao Basic Law and Discipline Museum Promotion Day," and so on. The Macao Basic Law was promulgated on March 31, 1993. With the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region on December 20, 1999, the Macao Basic Law was officially implemented.
