It's not big to get out of dialysis by taking Chinese medicine

Many dialysis patients have questions. Can I take Chinese medicine? Before answering this question, let's clarify the purpose of taking Chinese medicine for dialysis patients. For a regular dialysis patient with end-stage renal disease, it is almost impossible to break away from dialysis by taking Chinese medicine. However, if you want to improve the quality of life and solve some problems after dialysis, such as constipation, abdominal distension, anorexia, fatigue, insomnia, skin itching, anxiety and depression, you can still relieve them by taking Chinese medicine. Dialysis is divided into hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. Studies have reported that up to 80% of dialysis patients have gastrointestinal symptoms. Compared with hemodialysis patients, peritoneal dialysis patients have a higher incidence rate of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Here are two cases in which we treated dialysis patients with gastrointestinal symptoms with traditional Chinese medicine. The first patient is Aunt Liu, 77 years old, who has been found to have elevated serum creatinine for 11 years. She has been on regular hemodialysis for 4 years in the external hospital, twice a week. Although the adequacy of hemodialysis is normal, Aunt Liu still feels that there is no quality of life. Typical symptoms include difficulty in falling asleep, easy to wake up from sleep, many dreams, fatigue and tiredness, poor appetite, bloating, acid reflux and heartburn, belching, bitter mouth in the morning, irritability and irritability. According to the dialectical thinking of Professor Liu Duzhou, the master of the classics, who focuses on the main symptoms, "bitter mouth and bloated stomach", combined with tongue and pulse, the syndrome is divided into disharmony between liver and stomach. Xiaochaihu decoction and Xiangsu powder were added to relieve liver and stomach. After two weeks, the patient returned to the hospital, and the above symptoms were significantly improved. The second patient is Ms. Zhao, 49 years old, who has found that serum creatinine has increased for 10 years, and regular peritoneal dialysis has been more than one year. Ms. Zhao's typical symptom is constipation, which seriously affects the effect of peritoneal dialysis. She once took Shenshuening, Niaoduqing granules, aloe capsules, and lactulose oral liquid orally, but the effect was not good. Through the dialectical thinking of grasping the main symptoms, "bad breath, dry stool, and abdominal distension", combined with tongue and pulse syndrome differentiation for gastrointestinal heat, we added flavor to Dachengqi decoction to relieve heat, defecate, and dissipate qi. The patient's constipation was significantly improved. (Xinhua News Agency)
