The reporter learned from China Railway Guangzhou Bureau Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Guangzhou Railway Group) that there has been a strong demand for passenger flow since the resumption of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway, with more than 1 million people entering and leaving Hong Kong through the West Kowloon Station. Cross-border trains from Guangdong to Hong Kong's West Kowloon Station will be opened from March 11, and tickets will be sold from 6:00 on the 7th. According to Guangzhou Railway Group, from March 11, 2023, Guangzhou Railway Group will increase the number of cross-border trains from Zhaoqing, Chaozhou, Shantou and other regions in Guangdong Province to West Kowloon Station in Hong Kong by 12.5 pairs. At that time, the daily number of high-speed trains from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong will increase from 38.5 pairs to 51 pairs, further meeting the travel demand of passengers between the mainland and Hong Kong. According to the plan, tickets will be sold from 6:00 on March 7. Passengers can buy them through the railway 12306 website or mobile app. According to the head of the passenger transport department of Guangzhou Railway Group, the West Kowloon Station of Hong Kong resumed operation on January 15, and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway operated trains from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to the West Kowloon Station of Hong Kong, with a strong demand for passenger travel. As of March 6, the number of passengers entering and leaving Hong Kong through the West Kowloon Station had reached 1.08 million, with an average of 21000 passengers per day. According to the analysis of the operation and passenger flow in the past two months, the railway department should optimize and adjust the transportation plan in time, gradually resume the operation of trains bound for Hong Kong in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao and the eastern region of Guangdong, and continue to promote the orderly recovery of cross-border high-speed rail passenger transport.
