The World Conference on Digital Education was held in Beijing from February 13 to 14. The theme of the conference was "Digital Transformation and the Future of Education". At the media briefing held by the Ministry of Education earlier, the relevant person in charge said that the implementation of the National Education Digital Strategy Action has achieved remarkable results since it was launched one year ago, and China has basically built the world's largest education and teaching resource database. At present, digital transformation is promoting comprehensive social transformation, and digital transformation in the field of education is taking place. Especially under the influence of the COVID-19, global education is facing major challenges. The large-scale online learning triggered by this has further accelerated the process of digital education reform. In the past three years, China has carried out an unprecedented large-scale online teaching practice in the history of higher education in the world, using various digital resources such as Muke and virtual simulation experiments, and accumulated valuable experience. The digital transformation in the field of higher education is in the ascendant and is reshaping the mode and path of education development, which has profound strategic significance. The digitalization of higher education aims to form a new type of education ecology driven by data, combined with human and technology, and open across borders through a comprehensive and thorough digitalization transformation, and build a new system of higher education that is more appropriate, more complete, more open, more fair, more outstanding and sustainable. The digital transformation of higher education is a long-term process of gradual development and iteration. UNESCO divides the process of applying digital technology to education into four stages: starting, application, integration and transformation. The world's first strategic report on digitalization of higher education, "Unlimited Possibilities - Digital Development Report of World Higher Education", which was prepared under the leadership of China, divides the digitalization of higher education into three development stages: transformation, transformation and wisdom. The main task of the transformation stage is to strengthen the construction of digital infrastructure and platform to lay the foundation for the development of the subsequent stage; In the transformation stage, the digital transformation of all elements and links of higher education is realized mainly through in-depth mining and analysis of education-related data, so as to realize the digital transformation of the organizational form, teaching form, service form and governance form of higher education; The smart stage mainly provides personalized, refined and whole-process services for the digital transformation of higher education through the in-depth application of emerging digital technologies, so as to further promote the comprehensive transformation of education and teaching models, education concepts, governance methods and other comprehensive levels, fully enable the development of teachers and students, create a new education ecology, and shape a new education quality culture with human development as the core. We can define the current development stage marked by the construction of digital infrastructure and platform as the 1.0 version of education digital transformation, and the development stage marked by promoting the free, comprehensive and personalized development of people on this basis as the 2.0 version of education digital transformation. If the 1.0 version of education digitalization is centered on promoting the construction of things and technology application, the 2.0 version of education digitalization is centered on serving the all-round development of people, so it has special complexity and difficulty. At present, the core task of China's higher education development is to take the service demand and improve the quality as the main line, and constantly return to the free, comprehensive and sustainable development of human beings
