Dolioni said that more than ten seconds after the earthquake, both plates were displaced in the horizontal direction, just like a part of Türkiye moved to the southwest relative to the Arabian plate. Doriani's analysis shows that the Anatolian plate has the trend of moving towards the southwest and has accumulated elastic energy for a long time after resistance. This displacement is the result of the sudden release of this energy.
