How to break through the "dilemma" in quality education

For decades, many principals and teachers have been struggling between "taking exams" and "improving students' quality". On the one hand, all sectors of society attach great importance to the results of the secondary school entrance examination and the college entrance examination. On the other hand, schools should make great efforts to carry out quality education, especially the education of practical ability and innovation ability. This seemingly intractable dilemma actually implies a solution. First of all, theoretically, the knowledge and skills that the examination focuses on are an important part of human quality, especially practical ability, innovation ability and moral development. In essence, there is no fundamental contradiction between students' mastering knowledge and improving quality. The difference between the two is that the exam-oriented education only stays in the knowledge education to cope with the examination, while the quality education is to train the socialist builders and successors who develop morally, intellectually, physically, and aesthetically. The knowledge education is only one part of the quality education. Secondly, from a practical point of view, schools with high enrollment rates can be divided into two categories: one is to closely focus on the scope of the exam and require students to practice in the way of "brushing questions" and "staying up late". Such schools may cultivate some students with "high scores and low abilities"; The other type of schools not only pay attention to the improvement of students' test scores, but also carry out quality education in a lively manner. Such schools can cultivate more students with "high scores and high energy". This has given people an important enlightenment: as long as the reform ideas and measures are appropriate, it is entirely possible for schools to achieve a better balance between ensuring students' examination results and improving students' comprehensive quality, so as to solve this dilemma to a certain extent. Obviously, the key to reform is how to find this balance point, and then guide the examination reform and education and teaching reform to actively explore in this direction. From the perspective of the reform of the secondary school entrance examination and the college entrance examination, it is necessary to take into account the dual tasks of selecting qualified students for higher schools and guiding the development of basic education towards quality education. In recent years, all localities have actively implemented the spirit of the Overall Plan for Deepening the Reform of Educational Evaluation in the New Era issued by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, and the reform of examination and admission methods has achieved preliminary results. For example, some provinces and cities have increased the proportion of sports and health scores, and some provinces and cities have adopted the multiple admission mechanism of college enrollment with reference to comprehensive quality evaluation. From the perspective of the reform of school education and teaching, we should guide schools to balance the relationship between knowledge education and the improvement of students' comprehensive quality, and take it as an important reform field for continuous deepening. First, we should guide principals and teachers to truly establish a correct view of educational purposes, adhere to the principle of simultaneous development of five education, and effectively implement moral education in all aspects and links of education, and take it as a key measure to solve the problem of who to train, for whom to train and how to train people. Second, improve the quality of classroom teaching and the level of comprehensive benefits as an important breakthrough in deepening reform. There are two basic standards for the quality of classroom teaching and the high comprehensive educational efficiency: one is that teachers are good at using various educational resources in subject teaching, and can achieve multiple educational objectives at the same time in a teaching process. This requires teachers to take the subject knowledge system as an important clue to improve students' comprehensive quality, constantly improve the level of the integration of five education in classroom teaching, and expand the content on the basis of trying to complete the subject knowledge teaching task
