A few days ago, the reporter learned from the Haidian District Health and Health Commission that the district is carrying out the pilot work of prevention and control of myopia in children and adolescents with appropriate techniques of traditional Chinese medicine, and will provide free comprehensive intervention for prevention and control of myopia for thousands of eligible children. Haidian District has selected 8 qualified medical institutions within its jurisdiction, including Zhongguancun Hospital, Yangfangdian Hospital, Shangdi Hospital, Sijiqing Hospital, Haidian District Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Huayuan Road Community Health Service Center, Shuangyushu Community Health Service Center, and Qinghe Community Health Service Center, to undertake the vision screening and group intervention of children. Intervention subjects were 6 to 12 years old children who met the diagnostic criteria of early myopia or light and moderate myopia (or normal naked eye vision) after screening, whose refractive status deviated from the physiological value range of the corresponding age group, and suspected of having high risk factors of myopia such as insufficient hyperopia reserve. About 1000 children in the region will be enrolled in the free comprehensive intervention. After obtaining the consent of the parents, the designated medical institution clinic will test the children's vision health level. For children who meet the inclusion criteria, the ear acupoint pressing pills with appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine will be given priority, and the occurrence and development of myopia will be prevented and controlled by combining the correct operation of eye care exercises and the guidance, cultivation, supervision and other comprehensive intervention programs of eye care, correct eye use habits. The district has established a prevention and treatment expert group composed of multidisciplinary experts in ophthalmology of traditional Chinese and western medicine, appropriate technology of traditional Chinese medicine and other disciplines, and established a collaborative expert think tank of traditional Chinese and western medicine. The electronic student vision screening and filing system is adopted to establish an electronic eye health file for each student, realize one person one file, track and monitor, grade risk rating, carry out grading management, timely analyze the vision health status of pilot children and adolescents, and monitor the effect of intervention.
