In the workshop of Tiechen Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd., the sound of mechanical operation keeps coming and going, the parts and components of automobile production line are lined up in order, and the full-automatic flow production line is fully powered. According to the person in charge of the enterprise, more than 100 orders from open-pit coal mines in and around the city have been put off the production line. In 2023, they ushered in a "good start" for development. The application of driverless technology is not smooth, and difficulties come one after another in the process of research and development. "There are practical difficulties in unmanned driving in open-pit mines, such as no obvious road signs, weak communication satellite signal coverage, and large positioning error. We will tackle these bottlenecks one by one," Wang Xinggang told reporters. Through the efforts of the research and development team, the latest off-line driverless mining vehicle adopts the vehicle wire control technology, which can accurately and smoothly complete the projects of reversing, parking, and autonomous obstacle avoidance at the mine site. At the same time, the vehicle is equipped with environmental awareness system, behavior control, positioning system and high-precision map, which can complete the automatic loading, transportation and unloading cycle operation under the condition of unmanned operation according to the mine dispatching instructions, and achieve the goal of low cost and high efficiency of mining operations. Wang Xinggang pointed to the design drawing on the computer and introduced to the reporter: "At first, we took driverless mining vehicles as our main production goal. After the launch of the 'double carbon' strategic goal, we turned in time and directly entered the new track. Through cooperation with colleges and universities of well-known domestic research and development institutions, we carried out the research and development of pure electric, hydrogen and other new energy mining vehicles.
