Yesterday, the first validation flight of the world's first domestic large aircraft C919 delivered to China Eastern Airlines started, flying from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport to Beijing Capital International Airport. This marks the beginning of the 100 hour verification flight of the first C919 of China Eastern Airlines in the world, which will comprehensively test the reliability of various commercial operations of the C919 of China Eastern Airlines, and lay a solid foundation for the subsequent successful commercial passenger carrying flight. On December 26, the large domestic aircraft C919 took off at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport. With the successful reception of the world's first C919 by China Eastern Airlines on December 9, 2022, the domestic large aircraft industry has shifted from the "first half" of R&D and manufacturing to the "second half" of commercial operation. Whether the commercial operation can be successfully started, 100 hours of air plane verification flight and CAAC's examination and approval of verification results are key links. The verification flight is mainly to verify the ability of airlines to operate C919 aircraft safely, including the applicability and operability of relevant standards, regulations and procedures, and the ability of various professional systems and professionals to ensure safe operation, so as to ensure that C919 commercial flights are safer and more efficient. According to China Eastern Airlines, the 100 hour verification flight will last until the middle of February 2023. The takeoff and landing airports involve Beijing Capital, Beijing Daxing, Chengdu Tianfu, Xi'an, Haikou, Qingdao, Wuhan, Nanchang and Jinan. The verification flight needs to simulate the whole flight operation process, including dispatch release, passenger boarding, pilot operation, maintenance, etc. China Eastern Airlines has completed the model training for the first batch of 9 pilots, 24 attendants and 13 maintenance personnel, and the second batch of personnel training for key posts has been carried out. The number of relevant support personnel can meet the initial verification flight needs. After the C919 completes the route verification flight, CAAC will review and check the verification results, and issue the corresponding operation license after confirming that China Eastern Airlines has the ability to operate C919 aircraft safely. China Eastern Airlines strives to officially put the C919 into commercial passenger carrying operation in the spring of 2023. At that time, C919 will appear on high-quality routes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other places.
