The new "Marine Geology No. 2" multi-function new scientific research ship arrived at the scientific research dock of Guangzhou Marine Geological Survey Bureau of China Geological Survey on the 18th, marking the official opening of China's first deep-water scientific research dock. The reporter learned that this special dock for scientific research, which is currently the largest in China, is located in the northeast corner of Longxue Island, Nansha District, Guangzhou City. It covers an area of about 300 mu, has a coastline of 1000 meters, and has five berths for scientific research ships, with a total length of 700 meters and a supporting land area of about 12,000 square meters. The terminal is connected with the main channel of Guangzhou Port through the branch channel, which has the functions of ship docking, navigation preparation and replenishment, command and dispatching, maintenance and maintenance, meets the global standards for water and electricity for scientific research ships to dock, and has the capability of flood control once in 200 years.
