In terms of the Internet penetration rate of urban and rural minors, in 2021, the Internet penetration rate of urban minors will be 96.7%, and that of rural minors will be 97.3%. In 2021, the Internet penetration rate of primary school students in China will reach 95.0%, 2.9 percentage points higher than that in 2020, and there will be an obvious trend for minors to access the Internet at a younger age. In terms of the use of Internet devices by minor Internet users, the data shows that the proportion of minor Internet users using desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smart watches and other devices to access the Internet is 41.1%, 38.4%, 45.7% and 39.3% respectively, an increase compared with 2020; The proportion of using mobile phones to access the Internet was 90.7%, 1.5 percentage points lower than that in 2020. In addition, the survey included new online devices such as smart desk lamps, smart speakers, and dictionary pens for the first time. The proportion of underage Internet users reached 21.7%, 19.9%, and 16.4%, respectively. According to the data, 56.0% of minor netizens, 56.8% of parents and 79.0% of teachers expressed concern about the security risks of smart watches, smart speakers, dictionaries and pens and other Internet devices. In terms of network security and protection for minors, 25.5% of Internet users think that they have experienced network security incidents in the past six months, 1.7 percentage points lower than that in 2020; 79.8% of the respondents had certain awareness of the maintenance or reporting of network rights and interests, 5.7 percentage points higher than that in 2020; 66.3% will pay attention to the new policies and regulations related to minors' Internet access.
