Attach importance to labor education and give play to the main position effect

In 2021, vocational schools will recruit more than 5.5 million students nationwide, 1.8 times the number ten years ago. Secondary vocational schools will train about 10 million high-quality technical and skilled talents every year, and the average length of education of the new labor force will reach 13.8 years. Undoubtedly, higher vocational colleges have become the main front for training high-quality skilled talents in the new era. In March 2020, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council clearly pointed out in the Opinions on Comprehensively Strengthening Labor Education in Universities, Middle Schools and Primary Schools in the New Era issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council that "vocational colleges carry out labor education with practical training courses as the main carrier, in which the education on labor spirit, model labor spirit and craftsmanship spirit shall not be less than 16 class hours". It can be seen that the implementation of labor education is not only an important measure for higher vocational colleges to implement the national education policy, but also an internal requirement for the high-quality development of vocational education. However, at present, some groups of higher vocational students have weak labor consciousness, weak learning initiative, high ambitions, can't settle down, superficial, and fail to correctly establish the social trend of "labor is the most glorious, the most noble, the greatest, and the most beautiful". It is urgent to cultivate moral character and skills in the practice of labor education to promote their all-round development. In fact, there are many factors that cause these problems. First, there are deviations in the cognitive orientation of labor education. Some higher vocational colleges have lagged behind in school running concept, the talent training program has been updated slowly, the teaching content has not been closely focused on the new forms and requirements of labor, and a systematic labor education system has not been formed. Second, the labor education management guarantee mechanism is not perfect. Some higher vocational colleges have not included labor education in the talent training program, and have not established a sound security system and scientific evaluation system. Labor education involves daily teaching, practice and training, student management, logistics, production and teaching integration enterprises and other departments to cooperate, which requires human, financial and material resources to provide security. Higher vocational colleges need to do a top level design from the perspective of labor education system. Vocational colleges have strong advantages in terms of professional teaching characteristics, teaching organization and implementation, labor education equipment and other internal mechanism management, as well as external resources such as integration of production and teaching, school enterprise cooperation, practice and training. If we can truly and effectively integrate labor education into professional teaching and practical training, the win-win effect of "morality and technology" in vocational colleges will be easier to show. It is very important to get through the implementation path of labor education in higher vocational colleges in the new era. First, we need to build a practical labor education curriculum system. According to the relevant spirit guidance of the central government, set the overall goal of positioning labor education, optimize the curriculum, and reasonably arrange the content of labor education, so that students can better form a Marxist labor outlook, advocate labor spirit, and develop good labor habits. Second, we need to fully open labor education courses and combine them with professional practice and training. Higher vocational colleges should build a diversified team of labor education teachers with professional teachers, theoretical teachers and double qualifications in combination with the actual situation of the school, so as to provide effective teacher guarantee for high-quality labor education. Practical training is the theoretical knowledge and practical operation skills of vocational students
