The historical, cultural and digital exhibition of the Maritime Silk Road entered Kenya

The "Digital Exhibition of Maritime Silk Road History and Culture" co sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Kenya and the National Museum of Kenya held its opening ceremony at the Jesuit Fort Museum in Mombasa on the 15th. It is reported that the content of this digital exhibition is provided by the China Silk Museum and other units, and the exhibition equipment is donated by the East African General Chamber of Commerce of China. By showing the footprints and classic cultural relics left by the Maritime Silk Road in many places in the world, it reflects the global and inclusive nature of the Maritime Silk Road. Zhou Meifen, Cultural Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, said in her speech that the Jesuit Castle Museum displays a large number of Chinese porcelain and other relics of the Maritime Silk Road, which witnessed the history of China Kenya friendly exchanges. The historical and cultural digital exhibition of the Maritime Silk Road held here is a heritage of the spirit of the Maritime Silk Road and is of great significance to promoting cultural exchanges between China and Kenya. Asman Hussain, assistant curator of the National Museum of Kenya, said that Kenyans will use this exhibition to trace the historical footprints of the Maritime Silk Road and enhance their understanding of the outside world, especially China. Jamil Suren, the representative of Mombasa County Government, said: "I'm glad to see the Jesuit Castle Museum become the first cultural and museum unit in Kenya to hold the theme exhibition of the Maritime Silk Road. Mombasa is a famous cultural and tourism city in Kenya, and I hope China and Kenya can take this opportunity to promote people to people exchanges and cooperation and achieve more practical results." It is reported that this exhibition will be exhibited in the Jesuit Castle Museum all the year round, and the local people can explore the charm of the Maritime Silk Road closely through the advanced digital multimedia platform.
