Recently, the Forum on Christian Studies (2022) and the academic seminar "Christian Studies: China's Position and World Vision" were held online. The forum was hosted by the Christian Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, co sponsored by the Department of Philosophy of Sun Yat sen University, and undertaken by the Guangzhou Research Base of the Christian Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. More than 50 experts and scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Central College of Socialism, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Central University for Nationalities, Fudan University, Sun Yat sen University and other scientific research institutions and universities attended the forum. Adhering to the world vision and based on China's position, we should deeply study Christianity. First, we should adhere to the correct political direction, academic orientation and value orientation; Second, we should strengthen the research on the localization of religions in China and actively guide religions to adapt to the socialist society; The third is to strengthen the construction of discipline talent team, and focus on training talents with academic theory, quality and practical application ability. Zhang Wei, director of the philosophy department of Sun Yat sen University, believes that the study of Christianity should focus on promoting the study of interaction. On the one hand, we should focus on the exchange and interaction between Christianity and Chinese traditional ideology and culture, especially the mutual learning and integration of Christianity and Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism; On the other hand, we should pay attention to the adaptability of Chinese classics to the western Christian religious world, and conduct in-depth research around the transmission path, the collision with local social culture, the way of localization and the response of the western world. Guo Yun, president of Guangdong Christian Association, chairman of Guangzhou Christian Three Self Patriotic Movement Committee, and head of the Guangzhou Research Base of the Christian Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, believes that to further promote the sinicization of Christianity, it is necessary to build a theoretical system that integrates localization and globalization, and carry out research on the practice of sinicization of Christianity. Tang Xiaofeng, deputy director of the Institute of World Religions of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said in his closing speech that upholding China's position and having a world perspective complement each other. On the one hand, the spread of Christianity in the world determines that the study of Christianity must adhere to the world vision, including the carding of the history and current situation of the spread of Christianity in the world, as well as its status and role in the political, economic and cultural of various countries, and the discussion of Christian religious doctrines and classical etiquette; On the other hand, the spread and localization of Christian religion in China, as well as the academic mission and responsibilities undertaken by Chinese scholars, determine that our research must adhere to the Chinese position, not only to conduct an objective and fair study of the history and current situation of Chinese Christian religion, but also to face the problems and challenges of the times and make positive responses. The sinicization of Christianity is a historical necessity and the need of the times.
