MediaTek T800 5G baseband chip release: 4nm node process, download speed up to 7.9Gbps

2022-11-11

Today, MediaTek released a T800 baseband chip with a speed of 7.9Gbps. As a follow-up product of T700, MediaTek T800 is a fast and efficient 5G baseband chip, which supports sub-6GHz and millimeter wave on independent (SA) and non independent (NSA) networks. The chip can be used for dual SIM card configuration (dual standby is supported), and can provide download speed up to 7.9Gbps and upload speed up to 4.2Gbps. The T800 fully supports 5G 4GPP Release-16 specification and 4CC carrier aggregation. The T800 of MediaTek adopts a 4nm node process and a fully integrated 3GPP Release-16 5G cellular modem, FR1 transceiver, envelope tracking (ET) chip, MLNA, GNSS receiver and related PMICs. MediaTek T800 integrates PCIe and USB host interfaces, as well as other input/output options. JC Hsu, vice president of MediaTek, said: "Today's consumers want to be able to get 5G speed from anywhere. The latest 5G chipset solution of MediaTek allows end users to enjoy high-speed, low latency 5G wherever they are - providing real computing freedom. The T800 stands out in efficient design with ultra fast, reliable 5G speed, maximizing battery life, and providing an excellent all-round user experience." (Liu Xinshe)
