2022-11-08

Zhao Lijian, spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said on the 7th that China will continue to promote high-level opening up, facilitate foreign enterprises' investment in China, and promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. At the regular press conference on the same day, Zhao Lijian raised a question about the investigation report of HSBC's recently released "Overseas Enterprises Look at China 2022: Sharing New Opportunities for RCEP". Zhao Lijian said that he had seen the report. According to this report, more than 80% of the overseas enterprises interviewed are expected to achieve growth in China's business in the next year, and 75% of the enterprises interviewed say they plan to expand their supply chain in China in the next 24 months. In addition, 93% of the enterprises interviewed in the member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) are expected to increase their trade with China, of which more than 40% are expected to increase their business in China by at least 30% in the next year. The survey is aimed at nearly 3400 enterprises in 16 major markets around the world, covering 9 RCEP member countries and 7 major economies in the world. Zhao Lijian said that China is implementing a more proactive opening strategy and building a global network of high standard free trade zones to form a broader, broader and deeper opening up pattern. In the first eight months of this year, China's trade volume with RCEP members reached 8.32 trillion yuan, nearly one-third of China's total foreign trade. "In the future, we will continue to promote a high level of opening up, facilitate enterprises from all countries to invest in China, and promote trade and investment liberalization and facilitation." He said. (Liu Xinshe)
