Wang Yi Meets with President of the General Assembly of the United Nations

On November 7, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with President of the General Assembly of the United Nations on video at request. Wang Yi said that China has always supported the cause of the United Nations and the important role played by the General Assembly, and will continue to participate in international cooperation on climate change, making positive contributions to the success of the 27th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27). China is also willing to strengthen water resources exchanges and cooperation with other countries by implementing the Global Development Initiative. Kelleher congratulated the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and said he looked forward to strengthening cooperation with China, promoting the success of COP27, and helping fragile countries cope with challenges in the use and management of water resources. The two sides also exchanged views on Security Council reform and other issues. (Liu Xinshe)
