It is reported that at present, the erection of box girders for the whole line of Guangzhou Shantou High speed Railway has been successfully completed, all 50 tunnels have been completed, civil works such as subgrade and station have been completed, and the whole line has entered into the key stage of ensuring the opening. Guangzhou Shantou High speed Railway is the regional connection line of high-speed railway planned and constructed in the 13th Five Year Plan of the country, and also an important part of the high-speed railway backbone network of "five vertical and two horizontal" in Guangdong Province. It is led from Xintang, Guangzhou, passing through Huizhou, and ends at Shanwei. The total length of the new line is 206.2 kilometers, and the design speed is 350 kilometers. After the completion and opening to traffic, the running time of the train from Guangzhou to Shanwei will be reduced from 2 hours to about 60 minutes, which is of great significance to facilitate the travel of passengers along the line, promote the integration of eastern Guangdong into the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, build a comprehensive transportation system in the Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone, create a "one hour living circle" in Guangzhou, and accelerate the construction of the Binhai New Area and the Industrial New City.
