Dai Bing, the Charg é d'affaires a.i. of the Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations, said on the 20th that China hopes that the United Nations resident coordinator system will actively deepen cooperation with other development partners, strengthen the docking with major global, regional and national development initiatives, and form greater synergy to create good conditions for developing countries to achieve post epidemic recovery and sustainable development. Dai Bing, speaking at the dialogue between the United Nations Resident Coordinator and Member States, said that China has put forward the global development initiative, announced the creation of the "Global Development and South South Cooperation Fund", increased investment in the China United Nations Peace and Development Fund and other major initiatives. We welcome the United Nations development system and the resident agencies to put forward project proposals and carry out practical cooperation based on national priority areas and around key areas of the initiative, so as to add new impetus to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. Dai Bing said that China hopes that the United Nations resident coordinator system will stick to development as the center, mobilize and integrate development resources through multiple channels, tap potential, help developing countries cope with current multiple crises, and accelerate sustainable development goals in poverty reduction, infrastructure construction, education, health, climate change and other fields; It is hoped that the United Nations resident coordinator system will strengthen communication and coordination with the host governments, provide targeted support according to the specific national conditions and priority areas of each country, and respect the leadership of each country; It is hoped that the United Nations resident coordinator system will increase investment in capacity building, broaden the source of talents, provide sufficient training and learning opportunities for resident coordinator reserve talents from developing countries, and effectively improve the representation of developing countries in the resident coordinator system.
