Li Quan, the author of online literature, clearly remembers what he saw when he passed a famous department store on a business trip in Paris, France, one day in 2019. She was surprised to find that the luxury goods originally placed in a row of large shop windows on the street had been removed and replaced with electronic technology products such as Chinese mobile phones and computers. Lighting and layout were very particular, just like displaying diamond jewelry. For passers-by, such a scene may pass in a flash, but she was responsible for the overseas market development of a Chinese company at that time, so the impact was particularly big. She said: "Ten years ago, I had done research on Chinese brands in Europe, and the consumers who were asked, whether men or women, old or young, would probably say, 'Chinese products, people who have no money are right to buy them At that moment, the expression desire suddenly rose. After returning to China, Li Quan sorted out the essays of these years and wrote the Internet literature "The Age of Breaking the Waves" with a sense of urgency, mainly telling the rise and fall of many national science and technology enterprises in the 15 years from 2002 to 2017. His work recently won the Grand Prize in the 6th Online Literature Contest on Realistic Topics supported by Shanghai Municipal Press and Publication Bureau. Li Quan, who pays attention to the times, society and people's livelihood, was born in a remote mountain village in China, surrounded by overlapping mountains, and in the middle of it, there is a small world to see. After stepping into the workplace, her overseas work experience constantly changed her living space, which made her see the rich and multi-dimensional world: "In New Delhi, India and Abuja, Nigeria, people can bask in the sun on the dusty roadside for a day; in Tokyo, Japan and London, England, people will be pushed forward rapidly in the subway during the commute. I particularly like to write down these experiences of reality." Strengthening the creation of realistic themes and optimizing the ecological structure of content have become a new engine to promote the transformation and upgrading of online literature. The fantasy theme is no longer the only one, the type and style of online literature have undergone structural changes, high-quality masterpieces continue to emerge, and social benefits continue to improve. The creation of online literature that focuses on the times, society, and people's livelihood has become a common practice, becoming an important carrier for writing Chinese stories with passion. The 2021 Research Report on the Development of Chinese Online Literature released by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences shows that in 2021, the development of realistic themes echoes the overall development trend of online literature, and young online writers, represented by the post-90s generation, are becoming the backbone of their creation. They have aroused the resonance of many readers, especially young readers, through one real and perceptible life story after another. According to the data, since the first online literature contest on realistic topics was held in 2015, 230000 creators have created online literature works on realistic topics. Compared with 2015, in 2022, the number of online writers with realistic themes will increase by 4.85 times, and the 7-year compound growth rate will reach 25.3%. At the same time, real theme works also ushered in rapid growth, with a 7-year compound growth rate of 37.2%, ranking the second in all categories, surpassing traditional popular themes such as fantasy, history and suspense. Huang Ping, a professor of the Chinese Department of East China Normal University, is a judge of many competitions. According to his observation, starting from real life and relying on relevant life prototypes, he has formed a new concept in recent years
