In recent years, China's robot industry continues to maintain a good momentum of rapid growth, and its technology, products and scale have achieved important breakthroughs. Robot is known as the "pearl at the top of the manufacturing crown". Its research, development, manufacturing and application have become an important symbol to measure the level of scientific and technological innovation and high-end manufacturing in a country. According to the Report on the Development of China's Robot Industry (2022), it is estimated that the size of China's robot market will reach 17.4 billion US dollars in 2022, with an average annual growth rate of 22% in five years. In terms of cutting-edge innovation technology of robots, medical minimally invasive robots, new generation cooperative robots, high-end bionic robots and other technologies have maintained the international cutting-edge level. In the future, it is expected to achieve the international advanced level in more fields such as home service robots, medical rehabilitation robots, industrial vision, cloud service robots and so on. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other ministries and commissions have also jointly released a series of relevant plans such as the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" for the Development of Intelligent Manufacturing and the "Fourteenth Five Year Plan" for the Development of Robot Industry, giving priority to the support of the robot industry as a strategic emerging industry, which has played an important role in guiding and promoting talent training, technological progress, transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry, etc. While the development of industry and technology is facing good opportunities, the development of China's robot industry is also facing many challenges. First of all, we should strengthen basic research, form an innovation ecology of robot core technology, and promote the virtuous circle and development of technology and industry. Relevant core technologies need to be continuously tackled to achieve autonomy and controllability, and core key technologies such as intelligent perception, human-computer interaction, compliance control, operating system, robot programming and simulation, system integration and application process need to be further tackled. Universities, scientific research institutes and other units should be closely combined with robot enterprises to tackle key problems. According to the characteristics of multidisciplinary and multi-disciplinary integration development of robots, a variety of new modes of "production, teaching, research and application" transformation can be formed to accelerate the application and transformation of cutting-edge innovative achievements. Secondly, we should further play the leading role of robot leading enterprises and accelerate the application and promotion of products.
