On August 9, 2022, State Councilor and foreign minister Wang Yi held talks with visiting South Korean Foreign Minister Park Jin in Qingdao, Shandong Province. China and the ROK agree to jointly maintain the stability of the production and supply chain Wang Yi stressed that the current globalization is encountering an adverse current. Some countries have politicized their economies, made trade instruments and weaponized their standards, thus undermining the stability of the global production and supply chain. As the beneficiaries and builders of the global free trade system, China and the ROK should jointly resist such acts that violate market laws and jointly safeguard the security and stability of the two countries and the global supply chain. The two sides agreed to speed up the second phase of negotiations on the China ROK free trade agreement and strive to reach an agreement as soon as possible. The two sides agreed to conduct dialogue on maintaining the stability of the production and supply chain and commit to the integrity, safety, smoothness, openness and inclusiveness of the production and supply chain. We will adhere to trade and investment liberalization, abide by WTO rules, and adhere to the principles of non discrimination, non exclusion, openness and transparency. The foreign ministers of China and the ROK had an in-depth exchange of views on the "THAAD" issue. During the talks, the two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on the "THAAD" issue, expounded their respective positions, and believed that they should attach importance to each other's security concerns and strive to properly handle them so as not to make them a stumbling block affecting bilateral relations. Wang Yi: adhere to the five "Musts" to promote the healthy and stable development of China ROK strategic cooperative partnership Wang Yi said that this year coincides with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the ROK. Confucius said, "stand at thirty.". China ROK relations have experienced trials and tribulations and should be more mature, independent and stable. History and practice have proved that China and the ROK have always been safe and common neighbors and partners of mutual needs. The mutual respect, support and achievements of the two sides have not only brought important benefits to the two countries and peoples, but also provided stability for the peaceful development and prosperity of the region. Wang Yi stressed that facing the next 30 years, both sides should sum up useful experiences and grasp the overall situation of the development and stability of bilateral relations. We should be independent and free from external interference; We should adhere to good neighborliness and friendship and take care of each other's major concerns; We should adhere to openness and win-win, and maintain the stability and smoothness of the supply chain; We should adhere to equality and respect and non-interference in each other's internal affairs; We should uphold multilateralism and abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter. These five "should" are the greatest common divisor of the wishes of the two peoples and the inevitable requirement of the times. The Chinese side is willing to work with the ROK to adhere to the strategic partnership positioning determined by the two sides and promote the healthy and stable development of China ROK relations. Park Jin said that in the face of intensifying global turmoil and the world entering a period of great transformation, the ROK is willing to take the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to carry out open and inclusive cooperation based on mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and mutual trust on the basis of the ROK China strategic cooperative partnership, so as to make the bilateral relations more mature and healthy.
